I just noticed this index of your resources. Wow, this must have been a lot of work to compile. It's really interesting to browse through, thank you!
ReplyDeleteAll the best, Stephanie
Thank you Stephanie, I'm glad its interesting. It was a bit of effort, but I discovered some shortcuts as I went along.
DeleteHi Mark, I'm very happy to have found your blog, not a lot of people share their progress like you did and I find it very inspiring! I'm also trying to do something similar on my own blog and will definitely follow you.
ReplyDeleteLooking back at your journey, would you do something different? I will also follow The Natural way to Draw by Nicolaides, would you say it's worth following it until the end given the amount of lessons that it contains?
Thank you in advance :)
Thank you, Danilo, I am glad this blog is useful.
DeleteIt is difficult for me to answer the question “Is it worth following The Natural way to Draw to the end?”
It took me 2.5 years and changed my whole outlook. If you are looking purely to develop your drawing skills, there are better and faster ways. Some of the benefits to be gained from the book come from the seemingly endless repetition. For me, the unquantifiable thing I obtained from sticking with the book is an awakening of an artistic sensibility, but 2.5 years was a big commitment.
